E-car conversion kit 13kW

13 kW Electric Car Conversion Kit – BLDC Drive for Demanding E-Mobility ProjectsThe E-CAR 13KW kit is designed for vehicle conversion projects that require a more powerful electric drivetrain than basic systems intended for lightweight applications. The Miromax configuration includes an HPM-10KW motor and a KLS72701-8080N controller. Available supply-voltage options include 48 V, 60 V and 72 V, while the specified power range is 10–13 kW. Both air-cooled and liquid-cooled versions are available. This configuration can provide a solid starting point for vehicle electrification projects where additional power reserve and the ability to adapt the cooling system to operating conditions are important. 13 kW Kit for a Custom Conversion ProjectConverting a car or another vehicle to electric propulsion involves much more than replacing the original engine. The motor must work correctly with the controller, battery, torque-transmission system and electrical protection components. For this reason, the E-CAR 13KW should be treated as part of a complete engineering project. Before choosing a specific configuration, several factors should be established, including vehicle weight, wheel diameter, gear ratio, expected speed, hill-climbing requirements and the way the vehicle will be used on a daily basis. This makes it possible to determine whether the 10–13 kW power range meets the actual requirements of the project. HPM Motor and BLDC TechnologyThe kit uses a motor from the HPM family. It is a brushless DC motor, which means that electronic commutation is used instead of a traditional mechanical brush system. This technology is well suited to electric drivetrains that require precise control of motor speed and torque. The absence of brushes eliminates one of the components subject to typical mechanical wear in conventional brushed motors. At the same time, proper operation of the drivetrain requires a suitable controller capable of managing the individual motor phases. The Controller as an Integral Part of the DrivetrainThe E-CAR 13KW is offered with a KLS72701-8080N controller. Its purpose is to manage the flow of energy from the battery to the motor. In practice, controller configuration has a direct effect on the behaviour of the entire vehicle. The settings should be adapted not only to the capabilities of the motor but also to the battery, BMS and other components of the electrical system. When commissioning a new project, it is advisable to begin with a conservative configuration and monitor system temperature and behaviour under load. This allows the drivetrain to be evaluated before higher-performance settings are introduced. 48 V, 60 V or 72 V – Greater Flexibility in System DesignThe option to choose between different supply voltages gives the designer greater flexibility when developing the electrical system. For the same power level, a higher voltage can reduce the amount of current required from the battery. This can be important in a more powerful drivetrain, where cables, protection devices and contactors may be exposed to substantial electrical loads. However, this does not mean that the highest available voltage should automatically be selected. The voltage must be compatible with the battery, controller, charger, DC/DC converters and auxiliary equipment. All components should operate together as one properly matched system. Air Cooling or Liquid Cooling?Miromax offers different cooling configurations for the kit. This is important because thermal conditions depend heavily on the intended application. Air cooling may be suitable when the motor has access to effective airflow and is not required to operate continuously under maximum load. Liquid cooling can be considered for more demanding applications, particularly when the motor is enclosed or when the vehicle is expected to operate at high power for extended periods. A liquid-cooled configuration, however, requires additional cooling-system components to be planned and installed. This may include hoses, a pump, a heat exchanger and other elements depending on the final design. What Types of Projects Can the E-CAR 13KW Be Used For?The kit may be of interest to builders converting small cars, specialist vehicles, light utility vehicles and other platforms where a combustion drivetrain is to be replaced by electric propulsion. However, the kit should not be selected solely on the basis of the displacement or power of the original combustion engine. An electric motor has a different torque characteristic and works with a different drivetrain architecture. Vehicle mass, gearing and expected performance are all important. Each conversion project should therefore be assessed individually. The Battery Should Match the Real Power RequirementsThe motor alone does not determine the required battery capacity. The battery must provide the correct voltage, sufficient current capability and enough stored energy to achieve the intended driving range. Increasing battery energy capacity can improve range, but it also increases weight and occupies more installation space. In a converted vehicle, both of these factors can be critical. Before selecting a battery pack, it is therefore advisable to estimate expected energy consumption and determine how much installation space is available. Battery placement should also be considered because it can influence vehicle weight distribution. Mechanical Power TransmissionAn electric conversion does not end with connecting electrical cables. Motor torque must be transferred efficiently to the vehicle's drivetrain. Depending on the design, this may require a suitable coupling, adapter, gearbox or custom mounting components. Mechanical parts must be capable of transmitting the maximum expected torque with an appropriate safety margin while maintaining correct alignment. Improper alignment can lead to vibration, additional bearing loads and accelerated wear of drivetrain components. For this reason, the mechanical side of the conversion should be planned just as carefully as the electrical system. High-Voltage System ProtectionAs drivetrain power increases, the importance of a correctly designed electrical system also increases. The installation should include suitable overcurrent protection, correctly rated contactors, an emergency disconnect and solutions that allow the vehicle to be serviced safely. Cable cross-sections and connector types should match the current levels expected in the system. In systems using lithium batteries, correct integration with the battery management system is also essential. The BMS should be compatible with both the electrical characteristics of the battery and the requirements of the drivetrain. For Users Looking for Greater Configuration FlexibilityThe E-CAR 13KW is not a complete electric vehicle or a universal conversion kit that can be installed in exactly the same way in every application. Its main advantage is the possibility of integrating it into an individually designed electric drivetrain. The available voltage range and choice of cooling method make it possible to adapt the solution to different engineering requirements. For builders developing a carefully planned conversion, this flexibility can be much more valuable than combining separately selected components without considering how they work together. The 13 kW electric car conversion kit can provide a strong foundation for projects where power, configuration flexibility and compatibility between BLDC drivetrain components are important. Before ordering or beginning the installation, the selected motor version, controller, cooling method and system voltage should always be verified against the requirements of the specific vehicle. |
